Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge .

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge .   There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.   There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Heidi

Heidi is Kimberly's first dog, there is little doubt her exceptional qualities as a companion and friend paved the way for all the dogs here at Stormynights.  There are no words to express how special she will always be to us.  Born February 10, 1989 (with questionable parentage) we were so lucky to have her in our lives for nearly 16 1/2 years.  Heidi quietly slipped away during the early hours of morning on July 28, 2006.  She  was everything anyone could ever want in their "first dog"  and then some.  An exceptional companion and friend, Heidi will be truly missed.

Toby

Toby was a very special dog indeed.  We adopted him through a rescue organization in 1991.  He had been badly abused (by people who actually admitted they beat him), was seriously underweight and he had some grave behaviour problems.  Amazingly, as only a dog can do, Toby managed to put that all behind him and became the most fabulous dog ever.  He was always very fair and patient with the all the pups that have come to stay.   Sadly, after a nearly year-long battle to cancer, we had to say good-bye to our dearest friend & canine patriarch on February 1st, 2005.  There will never be another dog like our Toby and we feel truly blessed to have had him share in our lives.
