"Promise"
This is Promise, and it is very rarely that a dog like her comes around. Bred and co-owned by Colleen Skelton of Amberview, Promise is beautiful, smart and affectionate. Always up to the task, no matter what the challenge, Promise excels in whatever I ask her to do; I really couldn’t ask for a better dog or friend. In addition to proving herself as a conformation, flyball and obedience girl, Promise has also produced some excellent progeny (Have a look at Legacy, Liam, Faith, Keeper and Chance !). She has eight Champion kids to date and one other is pointed. This qualifies Promise for the title "Outstanding Dam.".
Now retired from our breeding program, Promise enjoys the quiet farm life. Be sure to keep an eye out for Promise kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in the show ring and see for yourself what a wonderful contribution Promise has made to the Golden Retriever breed.
Update July 2007: Promise accompanied myself, her son Chance and two Granddaughters (Posh and Fame) to the Golden Retriever Club of Canada's Regional and the Golden Retriever Club of Great Toronto Specialty shows to be shown in the Veteran class. Thrilled to be in the limelight again Promise poured her all into showing and was rewarded well. She was awarded Best Veteran in Sweepstakes, Best Veteran bitch at both Specialties and at the GRCC Regional Promise was given the Judges Award of Merit! Admittedly, the greatest pleasure of all was to be back in the ring with this special girl - the foundation of Stormynights. Promise was certainly a 'crowd favourite' as she effortlessly strutted her stuff at a mere 1 month shy of her 10 year birthday. Even the judge commented that she appeared to have more energy and spunk than many of the much younger dogs.
Thank you Promise for a most memorable weekend!
