The Puppy Adoption Process...Step by Step
(1) Fill out our Questionnaire and save it once you have completed it. (This requires Microsoft Word or Word Perfect...soon we will have an on-line version to make things a bit easier)
(2) E-mail us at stormynights@sympatico.ca. Be sure to attach your completed questionnaire!
(3) Once we've had a chance to review your questionnaire, we will get in touch with you via e-mail or telephone, fill you in on the details, ask you more questions and/or answer any questions you may have.
(4) If you have been "approved" over e-mail or telephone we will contact you once pregnancy has been confirmed to ensure you are still interested. A $100.00 deposit will place you on our "committed" list for that litter. (We will only take a few deposits until the litter actually arrives, in the meantime we will place the remainder on our Waiting List)
(5) Once the litter arrives we will contact you again to let you know the exciting news! If you were placed on our Waiting List you will be notified if there is a puppy available for you. If there is a puppy available, you will need to send your deposit before a puppy will be reserved for you. If there is not a puppy available, you can elect to wait for the next litter or ask us to refer you to someone else who may have puppies available.
(6) Once the puppies are 4 to 5 weeks old you will be invited to visit. During this visit you can meet me, meet the puppies' Mother and of course, play with some super-cute puppies! You are more than welcome to visit regularly once the puppies are old enough...just call us first!
(7) Once the puppies reach approximately 8 weeks old they will be ready to go to their new homes!
(8) Once your puppy has gone home with you, we'd still like to hear from you how things are going...call or e-mail with an update, just to brag or with any questions or concerns. We love to hear from our 'puppy people', so don't worry you won't be 'bugging' us!!!
